A Shoe Story

thank you for your comments! I read them all with much appreciation! tomorrow is the last day of november with no snow in sight and I must admit, I've been watching the evening news and envying our neighbors out west who are getting clobbered! A couple years ago, I finally bought a good, sensible pair of warm, winter boots..you'll notice, we haven't had any real accumulation since.

That's one of the things I do not like about winter...you have to wear something on your feet most of the time..even in the house...and I prefer to go barefoot...all of the time. Although I do have around 78 pairs of shoes (boots included). What is it with women and shoes? I don't think men have the need for as many pairs of shoes as women..do they? The ones I know certainly don't. I haven't bought shoes for awhile... wait...that's a lie. I bought two pairs of pretty flip flops up at Hampton Beach this summer...anyway, other than those, it's been awhile since I bought any REAL shoes...oh wait...another lie. I bought a pair for Lung Boy's wedding. Ok..other than THOSE, well, what I'm attempting to say is that I have more than enough shoes and I only really wear a couple of my favorites which mostly include flip flops so why do I even go into a shoe store? Last winter I bought a pair of black shoes that are too small for me, although they are my size, I refused to admit they didn't fit. I bought them anyway and now I still need (?) a pair of black shoes that go with jeans...the shoes I'm wearing today I love and I've had for about six years and every now and then I'll start stressing that eventually they'll wear out and I'll never be able to find another pair like them (comfortable, yet not too "Nun" looking), and I'll wind up in a shoe store and buy another pair that are "cute" but don't fit and they'll sit in my closet...gathering dust...and mouse droppings...with the other 78 pairs.
