Ya gotta love it. Gas is up around three dollars a gallon and there we are, out in the cold, pumping it ourselves!!! How did THAT happen? May I ask, where have all the old "service stations" gone? Remember when the service attendant would come out, pump your gas, wash your windshield and even check the oil if you asked? (for the price of gasoline, you'd think we'd also get the car washed, vacuumed and perfumed...but I digress).
And, as if THAT'S not enough, now we're checking out our own damn groceries!! How does that work??? You would think if we have to pump our own gas and scan our own groceries not to mention run our own merchandise through the self check at Home Depot, WE'D AT LEAST GET SOME KIND OF FINANCIAL COMPENSATION!!!
Why didn't we speak up? Someone is getting PAID to do those things....and we're doing it for FREE!! HELLO???? Don't ya love the way these things just sneak in. Won't someone, somewhere please DEMAND A DISCOUNT for our new responsibilities.

Julie, you are soo soo right! I refuse to use self check out, I tell my family look they are paying cashiers, the price of items reflect those costs, so if I do it give me a discount. There answer to me is it saves you time, isn't that worth it? NO NO and No.
Go to those stores and watch, they have a cashier just standing there watching you. Useless I say.
