Happy Thanksgiving!

here comes thanksgiving!!! how often do you think of the things you're thankful for? me? probably not often enough..but I was thinking about that last night as I was falling asleep and my list kept growing and growing so I thought I'd share, just so I can get some sleep tonight. First, I'm thankful for my health, my children, my family and friends & my dog...those are a given...my wonderful job; I know lots of people don't like going to work; I actually do..and believe me, I've had jobs I did NOT enjoy going to! My car; although it's not a car I would pick out if I could pick any car I wanted, it's a good little car, gets me where I need to go; it has heat (I can't tell you how many cars I've had that did not have adequate heat!), it parks easily, good on gas, it's the first car I've ever owned that didn't break down all the time (fyi, my dream car? a '67 GTO); I'm thankful for my apartment, the electricity that runs into my apartment, hot water for my showers, cold, fresh water when I'm thirsty, my refrigerator that keeps the food I'm thankful for, the heat in my home, my books, my ability to read, my eyesight, my hearing, my stereo and all of my albums, my legs for walking and running, my feet, my arms for hugging, my hands, having a washing machine in my building, do you see what I mean? I could go on and on and on....but the thing I'm most thankful for, is every day I wake up...even if that day SUCKS, I get another one tomorrow.....Have a great Thanksgiving.

Dear Julie, Thank you for your todays comments! Truly enjoy listening to your show! Always upbeat! Too often we all can complain so easily. Not nearly often enough do we take the time to be ever so Thankful just for the little things, for just today! You put many words into proper perspective! It doesn't have to be just one day to get us back on track, Thanksgiving, to get us back into reality! Seems sadly that's what happens! Doesn't take much time at all, very simple to just say Thanks! Thanks for everything! Or for those that find it necessary to thank the entire universe, daily! Simplify is my philosophy! Everyday is not taken for granted. There are no promises for the tomorrow, only proof of the yesterdays, that whatever we did, here we are blessed with another day! Another day to enjoy our family, our friends, our pets, even our jobs! Life is too short to constantly complain. Be Thankful, be Grateful, be Humble! Believe it or not, just to be Thankful daily, the Sucky days seem to become less and less. They just seem to disappear! Hmmmm! I know I am very Thankful for my health, my family, my dogs! After this everything else that comes my/our way is a Blessed Gift. Have a great Healthy Blessed Thanksgiving! Enjoy listening to all of you at WROR! Peace

Julie, I used to listen to you when I left my teaching job at 3:00 everyday but my hours have changed and I don't get home until 7 and I can't listen at my new job because I teach formerly homeless children. I am thankful for my job which allows me to make a difference in the lives of children who have had a rough life. I am thankful for my husband and two children and just about everything else you mentioned. I am also thankful that there were no deaths this morning from the explosion in Danvers. Being alive is a precious gift no matter what your religious beliefs are, and I'm sure these families are upset about their losses but are grateful to be alive. Be thankful for everything you have today because noone knows what tomorrow will bring. Happy Thanksgiving!

My daughter died (by the misgivings of a drunk driver0 10 years ago. Her name is Stacie. My husband and other daughter Ericka were just getting to the point where the holidays were still hard but at least we were still together.
My Nephew Andrew died this week from a grand mal seizure. We will be having his service on Friday.
After all of this I was so glad to read everything you are thankful for because it reminded me of the way that stacie and andy lived their lives. They both were vibrant young people who loved life and were so happy to be here.
Thank you for reminding me about the things that are still important in life.
I hope you and your family and friends have a wonderful holiday.

I enjoy JD's show, but she should say her name more often. And her 'At Work Nation' salute is really good, but, I wonder if she should be playing the number tones of the phone she is calling. And I hope Julie says MERRY CHRISTMAS instead of Happy Holidays. I mean, hey, recognize them all. But bunch them all together! Merry Christmas to all and Happy [fill in your holiday here] to all.
